Our rig sits at a storage lot from November through April. I used to make the 40 minute drive once a month just to walk through and check everything which my wife thought was insane but you hear enough horror stories about people opening up in spring to black mold and ruined floors and you start to get a little paranoid. Bought 6 of these in October, put them in all the usual spots. . Battery is supposed to last 3 years which I'll believe when I see it but the low battery alerts make me feel like at least I won't get blindsided. Haven't had an alert yet, drove out twice this winter just to double check on my own and everything's been dry. Honestly the peace of mind alone is worth what I paid.

Got a 4 pack for my dad's fifth wheel for fathers day. He texted me last week saying one went off in the wet bay. He never texts me lol. He's really happy to have them around the RV because he doesn't normally Know when to look for leaks. We have them in our rv as well and we're also very happy! What sold me was the local alarm. Camp at a lot of state parks with garbage wifi or none at all and every other option I looked at basically becomes a paperweight without a signal. These actually scream at you regardless. Tested it with a wet rag in the driveway before our first trip, scared the dog half to death which I figure means it works.

Put one under the bathroom sink mostly out of paranoia. Sure enough about 6 weeks in it goes off at like 2am. We pulled the cabinet apart and found the supply line fitting had backed off just enough to drip every few minutes. No standing water yet, no soft floor, nothing. Caught it before it became a thing which is the whole point. i bought them for the Rv but ended up buying a few more for my house!
